This is a BRAND NEW MINI Restorative Training that features 2 days of training which includes 5 hours each day of immersive restorative practice and time to explore the beauty of rest.

We will learn how to set-up TWO of the most common Restorative Poses, so that you can practice them on your own, share them with friends, clients, patients and enhance Savasana in your yoga classes. 

  • Restorative yoga is the antidote to stress.
  • It is a practice that encourages relaxation and release of deep layers of tension, with support, awareness and intention.
  • Well-placed props such as bolsters, blankets, blocks, chairs and eye pillows are used, to safely support the body in various poses.
  • This deep, purposeful, and mindful kind of rest alters and lowers our stress responses and helps us to function better physically, mentally and emotionally.


YOU WILL LEARN:

  • The science, practice and teachings of restorative yoga
  • Importance of rest and the nervous system
  • Detailed alignment and set-up of 2 essential restorative poses: with full props support, and minimal props
  • How to modify the poses to meet the needs of your students
  • Observing body alignment to better understand the use of props
  • Hands-on adjustments
  • Getting creative with things to use as yoga props
  • Practical hands – on teaching experience

Experienced or new yoga teachers who:

  • Wish to offer some restorative poses in their regular yoga classes.
  • Enhance their own yoga practice of self care for their mental health and wellbeing.

  • Want to help their patients and clients feel and rest better in their – pre, on-going and post-medical treaments.

Anyone who is interested to:

  • Learn more about restorative yoga.
  • Lower their stress levels; sleep better, and feel more rested.
  • Create ease and comfort during times of injuries (eg. an injured knee), chronic pain or when getting the body comfortable is challenging, such as after a surgery.

Yoga Teachers are entitled to 10 hours of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) with Yoga Alliance

FAQs

Can I do this training if I have not done Restorative Yoga before?
Yes. This training allows you to immerse yourself in the restorative yoga experience. You do not need to have any yoga experience to try Restorative yoga or to take this training.
What If I am really stiff and inflexible?
It does not matter if you’re stiff, inflexible or new to yoga. Restorative Yoga supports your body with blocks, blankets, bolsters, pillows and other any props you need, in order to for you to be comfortable to relax into the pose. In fact, it’s a style of yoga that people who are stiff and inflexible really enjoy.
Do I have to bring any props for the training?

The Nest Wellness Studio will provide most of the props such as bolsters, blocks and blankets.

You will NEED to bring (not provided by the studio)

  • 2 small hand towels (square or rectangular shaped) for your head and neck support
  • Something for warmth (shawl, sweater)
  • Eye pillow if you have any
Can I miss any days of the training?
To receive your certificate of completion, you must attend 100% of the training hours. No refunds are given if you are miss any days of the training.
Can I attend this training if I am pregnant or injured?

Yes, absolutely! We welcome all mummies and daddies to the training. It’s a wonderful time to rest, tune inwards and connect with the baby.

Are books and materials included in the price of the training?
A training manual is provided for the training.
What is the age range and group size?
The age group varies from 20 – 70 years of age. Class size will range from 9 – 20 participants. Trainings are deliberately kept small to maintain a personal and interactive student-teacher relationship.
Will I be a certified Restorative Yoga teacher after this training?

Unfortunately no, you will not be a certified Restorative Yoga teacher after this as this is only an immersion training and not the full Restorative Yoga Teacher Training. The full Restorative Yoga Teacher Training Level 1 is 50 hours and requires case studies and assignments.

You will receive a certificate of completion for the attending the Immersion.

For teachers have completed the basic 200hr yoga teacher training, you will be able to register these training hours with the Yoga Alliance after receiving your certificate of completion.

Please note that you must have completed the basic 200hr yoga teacher training in order to be certified as a Yoga Teacher. The Restorative Yoga training does not render you a yoga teacher or a restorative teacher unless you already undergone the basic 200hr yoga teacher training.

Does the Restorative Yoga Immersion count towards CET (continuing education training) Hours with Yoga Alliance?
Yes. 10 Hours.
I’m not a yoga teacher. What qualifications does the Restorative Yoga Training give me?

Upon successful completion of this training, you will receive a certificate of completion in the study of Restorative Yoga only.

Please note, the Restorative Yoga Immersion on its own, does not qualify you as a yoga teacher, or restorative yoga teacher. To be a yoga teacher you are required to have completed the basic 200hr yoga teacher training.

What happens if I’ve paid but cannot attend the course?

Your course payment is non-refundable. As numbers are limited in our trainings, this payment secures your place. Should an emergency arise and you are not able to make it for this training, please contact

About Adeline Tien

Adeline Tien (E-RYT 500, YACEP), has been teaching Restorative Yoga since 2008 and brings more 15 years of restorative yoga teaching experience, into this training.

She conducted Singapore’s first Restorative Teacher Training in 2017.

She trained with the amazing Jillian Pransky and the knowledgeable Judith Hanson Lasater (Relax and Renew®).

She is a certified Advanced Relax and Renew® Trainer, a certified Yoga Tune Up® teacher, Level 1 iRest Yoga Nidra Teacher and a Reiki practitioner.

Adeline has been practising yoga since 1994 and teaching yoga since 2002. Her students often describe her as a teacher who keeps the yoga practice safe, with simple, clear and precise instructions.

She hopes to change the mindset that “you have to do more, to be productive”. Why not try “Do more by doing less”?

If only we all took the time to rest, we could bring about transformation of the world, with one restorative pose at at time.
